Friendship Caps

An inspiration from the movie UP! Disney Pixar came out with this movie in 2009 where a 78 year old man tied balloons to his house and flew away with an 8 year old stowaway to pursue his dream of seeing/living at Paradise Falls. What a great inspiration to follow your dreams, creating new friends in midst of diversity, accomplishing goals when faced with the most difficult obsticals, a great example of creativity and an example of true freindship.

You may have grown up or heard of friendship bracelets. We'll here's a twist inspired by the movie. Friendship Caps. A frienship pin made out of a bottle cap, foam and a pin back. In the movie Mr. Fredrickson receives one from his new friend Ellie as he begins to develop a friendship with her in their clubhouse. He treasures this pin throughout the movie. They go on to depend their friendship and move into marriage. Their lifetime dream is to visit Paradise Falls together however life takes its ups and downs with the couple and they never make it there together. Mr. Fredrickson is then threatened to put in a nursing home after Ellie's death however has other plans to meet his goal of reaching Paradise Falls and attached balloons to his home and flys away. You'll have to watch the movie to find out if he reaches his goal and what friendships he makes on the way.

So, lets create a new Friendship fad and begin to give our friends Friendship Caps! Or what a way to bond your family by making Family Caps!

Here's how to make them. Save the Caps off of your bottled beverages. Then trace the top of the cap on the foam sheet and cut out. I had to trace two per cap to make it high enough to reach the top of Cap. Then use any type of glue and glue to the inside of Cap. Then glue on the pin back, with any type of glue that will adhere to metal, to the foam in the middle of circle. Let dry completely.

I have a 4 year old son who can't wait to give his Frienship Caps away!
