Monsoon + Diapers = Sore Bum

Monsoon has hit certain parts of the world much harder this season. Especially for those of us living in India. It seems we go to sleep to the sound of rain coming and wake up to find large, muddy puddles where our kiddos want to play.

For our infants, the combo of moisture, heat, and those diapers just aren't good! We've tried all the creams possible and nothing seems to solve the diaper rash completely. The problem is that with an already moist environment, the plain creams only add moisture. We need to eliminate it. So here's something we learned from my sister-in-law in the States who is a nurse, that will work with ANY cream!

Take whatever cream you might be using: Desitin, Vitamin A & D, Herbal Cremes, etc.. (FYI-dry powders such as baby powder or others may have talc that is NOT good for baby's lungs and should not be used). Mix that cream with cornstarch or, in India, corn powder. Add just enough to form a creamy paste. Not too dry that it won't spread, but not too moist that it's not a creamy paste. Apply the mixture to the raw area after each diaper change. I promise, it will solve ALL your problems!!
